AM-DESK

AM-DESK (AutoMeasure-DESK) is an automated 3D measurement station consisting of an intelligent control system, multiple servo mechanics, a safety system, a motion control system, measurement and analysis software, and SPC batch analysis software. The station’s compact size and a simple installation allow it to meet a wide range of applications.

AM-DESK can be used in combination with various collaborative robots and Scantech’s entire fleet of 3D scanners to automatically measure a large number of parts. It is ideal for on-site inspections on shop floors, in laboratories, and in harsh conditions that require continuous 3D measurement with high precision.

In accordance with CE certification standards, the station provides operator safety with all-round methods. The station’s various accessories enable automated and uninterruptible 3D measurements for complex objects.

The station includes the sophisticated and user-friendly 3D software FlexScan, which offers a simple user interface and allows for seamless human-machine interaction. The software includes several communication mechanisms to support the operation of various collaborative robots and allows for automatic measurement with multi-positioners in a number of situations.

Fast and reliable

AM-DESK is a reliable 3D measurement station for a variety of applications, whether in the laboratory or in factories. It offers quick and automated inspections of parts weighing less than 100 kg, including castings, plastics, and stampings. When the measurements are done, the station may generate inspection reports automatically by comparing actual 3D coordinates to CAD data, which considerably increases efficiency.

Easy Programming

The station, which is equipped with a PLC and a servo-mechanist system, allows for programmable and automated measurements when connected with many collaborative robots. It can do complex measurement jobs with the push of a button using predefined measuring pathways. Engineers and operators with varying degrees of knowledge and programming skills may use it with ease.

When employed in an unstable environment for high-intensity operations, equipment must be calibrated to assure accurate measurement results. The station automatically calibrates its sensor after scanning or when the temperature changes, ensuring uninterrupted measurements.

Safety

The station is CE-marked, indicate that it meets EU safety, health, and environmental requirements. It employs very secure techniques, such as serial arrangement for emergency stop, a buzzer to indicate potential dangers with lights and sounds, and regulated force distance with servo-mechanists, to assure safe operation. When used with cobots, it supports 10-grade collision detection and sensor safety detection, preventing the robot from operating due to anomalous or possible dangers.

3D software – FlexScan

FlexScan is Scantech’s in-house developed software for automated 3D measuring. It supports the operation of robots such as KUKA, ABB, AUBO, FANUC, YASKAWA, and others.

Various accessories

The automated measuring station weighs 75 kg and has a footprint of one square meter. This compact station can be set up in 5 minutes using 110-220V mains power. When mounted on a mobile cart, it can be relocated for quick installation. Furthermore, it can function in combination with plug-and-play positioners to expand workspace. The station can change the measuring path quickly, which speeds up the process. It is also compatible with various cobots and Scantech’s whole fleet of 3D scanners.
